Ethics Charter

The ASIO Ethics Charter establishes the foundational principles that guide all our work in sports integrity monitoring and reporting.

INDEPENDENCE & NON-PARTISANSHIP

ASIO does not endorse candidates, political actors, or factions. All assessments are issue-based, not personality-driven. We maintain complete independence from:
• Governments and political parties
• Sports federations and governing bodies
• Commercial entities and sponsors
• Individual personalities and interest groups

ACCURACY & VERIFICATION

• Multiple-source verification required before publication
• Clear separation between facts, analysis, and opinion

• Statistical data must be properly sourced and contextualized

RIGHT OF REPLY

• Individuals and institutions named in reports are given a reasonable opportunity to respond
• Responses are published fairly and without distortion
• A minimum of 48 hours is provided for response to serious allegations
• Failure to respond is noted but does not prevent publication

CONFLICT OF INTEREST

• Mandatory disclosures for staff, contributors, and board members
• Recusal required where conflicts exist
• No financial relationships with entities under investigation
• Regular audits of potential conflicts

WHISTLEBLOWER PROTECTION

CORRECTIONS & ACCOUNTABILITY

• Errors are corrected promptly and transparently
